Michael Schumacher has given a clinical assessment of his chances of competing next season, in the face of a raft of criticism over his comback performance in 2010. When asked if he would return with the Mercedes squad in 2011, he answered bluntly, “Yes.”

Mercedes sports honcho Norbert Haug has come out defiantly against many of the paddock skeptics who have written off Michael Schumacher’s comeback effort as a disaster. While acknowledging that Schumacher has struggled at the start, Haug insists that Schumacher is taking the long view, and is far from throwing in the towel.
